A highlight of 2012 in the Faculty was the signing of the new agreeme?nt between Stellenbosch 万博体育官网 and the Department of Defence (DoD). This agreement cements the long-standing relationship between the 万博体育官网 and the Department. In May this year, Prof Russel Botman, the 万博体育官网's Rector, and Dr Sam Gulube, Secretary for Defence, co-signed a new memorandum of understanding that covers, among others, the parameters within which tertiary contextualised military education is provided to officers of the SANDF and from the SADC region.
