Current Projects
The Configurations and Origins of Chemical Structure in Felsic Magmas in Continental and Arc Crust
Specific petrological, chemical and isotopic studies of plutonic and volcanic masses and their component minerals (in South Africa and Australia), to investigate the mechanisms by which granitic magmas attain their compositional heterogeneity, the structure of Earth's continental crust and the origins of its compositional differentiation. Stevens and Kisters (Stellenbosch), Birch (Museum Victoria), Maas (Melbourne 万博体育官网), Nicholls (Monash 万博体育官网) and Phillips (Phillipsgold) are the main collaborators.
There are numerous sub-projects within this overall theme, currently in Australia, South Africa and Namibia.
